Field work along the Swan River
We started the field work from 2 February until 22 February 1992 at the upper stream of the Swan River in Brigadoon. The title of Murakami’s work is called “Ubusuna”. The meaning of “Ubu” is Birth, and “Suna” is Sand or Soil. In the other words it is “Mother Earth”. The title of Yamamoto’s work is called “Funbo” which means Tomb. Therefore, our work is pair of Life and Death.
